My Thoughts:

How free can a ruler or a king really be?

Politics, consequences, allies, opinions, feelings, strategies... these all influence a ruler.... at least probably a ruler that is after more than his or her own hedonistic pleasures.

How much can a ruler just be him- or herself? How much of the choices made are excactly that what the king would have wanted?
