Romance is an invention — Madeleine Hunter

“Romance is an invention of poets. It is a drama devised to make men’s base needs more acceptable to women."

My Thoughts:

My first thoughts to this were about the alleged differences between men an women. Are the romantic feelings of men really that different? Ok, even in the novel this claim comes from an evil-ish person, who's claims aren't necessarily meant to be believed. But still, it's an interesting question: do women and men really feel and think so differently from each other?
